It has become the norm to see people everywhere constantly interacting with some kind of media no matter where they are. The ways and means in which images are shared and created have changed vastly through the past decade and the relationship between the image and the consumer has also seen radical change in modern times.Everything has changed since the beginning of the technological and digital age, there has been a massive shift in the way people interact with one another. Our entire lives have changed since this new era. Almost everything people do today is image driven and so many of us are obsessed and influenced by fame. With technology and the internet there has become a portal where we can instantly interact with people from all over the world. The ease at which we can do this is taken for granted by all. We also are heavily influenced by celebrities which dominate social media and become obsessed with following the latest trends and hypes, which they endorse. This has created new forms of celebrities, from YouTube sensations to Vine stars that have gained much popularity through the sharing of these performances through online means such as social media. Celebrities are no longer the conventional movie stars. This leads us to wonder how technology will evolve over the next decade. In this book we will be going into depth on just that! We’ll be explaining the key points of this ongoing culture of self-absorption and society’s role in it.
